Getting Away

I recently had a great trip to Miami. How refreshing to get out of the cold and mounds of snow! I met new people, made new BFF's, and so enjoyed dinners by the beach or breakfast on our own back patio. Palm trees swayed in the wind, the sea air was a delight and even though the trip was whirlwind, it was perfect! The quick trip re-vitalized me. All I needed was a change of pace and scenery.

We all need a chance to break free and slow down. And I don't think I realize how tired I can get until forced into a seat on a plane with nothing else I can do. I usually fall into a deep sleep before the plane even leaves the gate. A few trips ago I did this and after about 40 minutes I awoke somewhat angry that we were still at the gate! Come to find out, I had slept through the take off and we had already been flying for quite awhile. I had to chuckle at that one!

All it takes is a break from our routines to get ourselves refreshed. Take a walk in the park if it is not your norm. Go visit a friend for the weekend who lives in a different town. Try a new restaurant.

What can you do to give yourself that mini vacation? Be creative! I'd love to hear your version for relaxation.
